Free Lantern Making Workshops

Head for Arts intends to light up the Valleys this autumn by arranging a series of lantern-making workshops across its Heads of the Valleys (East) catchment area. The workshops, led by artists from Malarky Arts, are suitable for teachers or anyone working with a community group and (like Jamie Oliver and his cooking project) operate on a "pass it on" principle so that the skills learned can be cascaded to others, generating hundreds of lanterns and dozens of events.

The lanterns are really simple to make using materials and equipment that are easy to access. Comments from recent participants include:

"lots of fun and very relaxing"
"brilliant ideas that can be used for all occasions"
"interesting and worthwhile"
"an enjoyable evening - I'd love to do more"
