American Rockers
Californian rockers Love/Hate and the LA Guns both visit Merthyr this summer. LA Guns started more than 15 years ago, recording their first album in summer 1987. The first album, titled “LA Guns”, went on to sell 750,000 copies and earned the band its first gold album award. Their second album, “Cocked and Loaded”, in the spring of 1989 received sales of over 1,000,000 earning the band its first platinum record award. The band has continued to release thirteen further albums and is currently celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Cocked and Loaded by playing the album in it's entirety. Fellow Californian rockers Love/Hate caused a bit of a stir in the early 90s when lead singer Jizzy Pearl erected a cross on the “Y” of Hollywood’s famous mountain side letters, stageing a mock crucifixion. Love/Hate play the Vault (Myfanwy Theatre), Merthyr Tydfil College, on 26th August, supported by Ricky Warwick and New Generation Superstars. The LA Guns visit The Vault, together with The Duel and support on Thursday, 25th June, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15. For further info please contact: 01685 726161 / mtheatre@merthyr.ac.uk
