Audiences Wales Newsletter June 2009

Photo] We will be holding our next Welsh Language Marketing Forum at the Arts Council of Wales’ offices in Carmarthen on June 17th between 11am—1pm. Euros Lewis will be discussing his work as a community arts practitioner in Wales. There will also be a talk by Steve Eaves from Cwmni Iaith, the language planning agency, who will be discussing how the agency have helped organisations in developing bilingual practices and identified the language requirements of various jobs. (Please note that there will no longer be a talk from Elwyn Williams about his reach figures for Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru’s business plan, as mentioned in the March e-newsletter.) If you wish to attend the forum please email michael@audienceswales.co.uk. [Photo] What’s on Wales / Golwg ar Gymru is the only bilingual arts event listing website in Wales. We receive an average of 10,000 visits a month and our visitor rate for 2009 has increased by over 150%. Our new advertising facility will give venues the opportunity to promote their events at a cost effective rate. We have three different advert sizes available - a banner (one at the top and one at the bottom of the front page), a skyscraper (on the right hand side of the front page) and a tile (also on the right hand side of the front page.) St David Hall’s banner advert for the Welsh Proms received over 5,000 views within 48 hours of it going live - viewed by individuals with an interest in attending Welsh arts events. Free registration for The Big Draw 2009 is now open with an invitation to get as many arts organisations as possible to host their own events. The Big Draw is a month-long season of events that encourage creative participation. From painting to stop-motion film, or linked activities using music and sound, there can be something for everyone. The Big Draw Day is on Saturday October 10th 2009 but organisations can also hold events on any other date during October. For further information and to register online click here.
