Macbeth At The Castle
Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery will also be hosting a performance of Macbeth by Showcase Performing Arts on the Castle Forecourt, tonight; Thursday 9th, Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July at 7pm. For tickets priced £6 or further information, please call 01685 879553.

Art exhibition
An art exhibition by local artists will be showing at Trelewis Oap Hall, from Tuesday until Thursday (14th - 16th July) 10am until 4pm and Friday (17th July) 10am until 2pm. Entrance into the exhibition is free.

Circus Comedy
A Komedy of Errors is a comic circus show by Circus Berzercus, starring Gerald the gentleman juggler - Precise, short tempered and vain. Wallace the circus trainee - Inexperienced, irreverent and child like. From curtain up there is trouble. When Gerald's juggling partner walks out on him, he asks the agency to find a suitable replacement. Enter Wallace - cue chaos. With Wallace around, Gerald will need all his years of show business experience to keep the show on track. A Komedy of Errors comes to Trelewis Community Centre on Wednesday, 15th July at 7.pm. A Night In Verse
The next Open Mike Night, on Thursday 23rd July 2009, welcomes poet and essayist John Barnie from Abergavenny. He has published several collections of poems, mixed poems and fiction, and two collections of essays, one of which, The King of Ashes, won a Welsh Arts Council Prize for Literature in 1990. Poets, writers, singers, acoustic musicians and those who just want to listen are all welcome to come along to this free entry event, at the Imperial Hotel, 23rd July at 7.30pm. Forthcoming dates for this summer also include Chris Williams on 13th August, Samantha Wynne Rhydderch on 24th September and Gemma June Howell on 15th October. Summer School
Bigfoot Arts Education, who usually work in the Cardiff area but have recently been doing work in Merthyr schools, are running a Performing Arts Summer School. They hope to provide a really great week of dance, singing and drama for 5-16yr olds. Sessions work out as £18 per day (£90 in total for the week). The Performing Arts Summer School will be at Abercanaid Community Primary School, from Monday July 27th until Friday July 31st, from 10am-4pm. The week will create a Cabaret performance for friends and family at the end of the week, involving scenes, dances and songs from popular new musicals including High School Musical, Wicked, Hairspray and Many More.
