Cyfarthfa Castle celebrates artist Josef Herman’s centenary
An exhibition showcasing Josef Herman’s rapidly executed, expressionist sketches of miners, land workers and fisher folk has opened to the public at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery. The exhibition will be introduced and discussed during an insightful gallery ‘Walk and Talk’ with the Chair of The Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru, Lynne Bebb. The ‘Walk and Talk’ is free to members of the public at 1:30pm on Saturday 19th November.
‘Llafur – Imaging the Labourer’ is an insightful exhibition celebrating the labourers that Josef Herman encountered during his travels around the world, this includes the collier – who he held in deep regard. This special exhibition will run until 27th November 2011.
