Film Reviwer Needed
At a loose end this summer? Like films? Well Zoom may have the volunteering opportunity for you. Zoom are looking for someone to come into the office and help them source copies of films that they would like to consider for screening at the next Zoom Film Festival. You will need you to write a short review of each film and keep a spreadsheet of the films – but its all great work experience and should be a lot of fun. You’d need to come into the Zoom office, at Treharris Community College, at least once a fortnight, but you can do most of the work in the comfort of your own home. If this sounds like something you might be interested in? Then email Lisa@zoomcymru.com – telling her a little bit about yourself; age, where you’re from and why you would like to help out. This is a completely voluntary position and Zoom can’t pay any expenses – you’ll be doing it out of your love for film! For further information contact Lisa Davies, Zoom Cymru, Treharris Community College, Edward Street, Treharrris CF46 5ER. Tel: 01443 413622

Audiences Wales Annual Report & Evaluation 2008-2009

2008-2009 was a year of significant growth for Audiences Wales.

In a year where many arts organisations faced financial challenges, Audiences Wales saw an increase in both its impact and reach across its funded region and across the whole of Wales.

We aim to support the arts sector in Wales through the promotion and development of marketing and audience development; believing that both are fundamental to the development of effective arts organisations and the key to accessing the arts for audiences across Wales. We do this through a range of tactical, strategic and support services that are informed by regular communication and consultation with arts organisations, government bodies, local authorities and specialist agencies.

Our key achievements in 2008-2009, presented through the evaluation of our services, illustrate an arts sector that wants to develop its knowledge and expertise through research, analysis and training, and wants to engage with opportunities to share ideas and work collaboratively in a supported and strategic way.

Our achievements also indicate that public audiences want to find out about arts events through mailings, print, and web technology, illustrated, in part, by the significant growth of visitors to our What’s On Wales / Golwg Ar Gymru website.

Please find attached a summary of our Annual Report and Evaluation for 2008-2009 in both English and Welsh. If you would like to read more, please contact me on nick@audienceswales.co.uk and I will send you a copy of the detailed Annual Report and Evaluation.

Yours sincerely
