Merthyr Express column

17th June 10

Book Signing
Local author Mike Jenkins will be at WHSmith Merthyr Tydfil this Saturday 19th June, from 11am – 12pm signing copies of his latest book The Climbing Tree; a short novella aimed at teenagers. The story is set in Merthyr Tydfil, but in a not-too-distant future, where life is very different to the present day. At only 64 pages long The Climbing Tree gives rise to questions about the future of the environment, the growth in gang culture and life in small communities. A gripping, modern tale, The Climbing Tree is sure to be of strong appeal, and spark debate amongst its readers.
The Climbing Tree is available to buy from all good bookshops and online retailers. For more information, please visit www.pontbooks.co.uk
